2018 American Hospital Association Analysis – Tax Exempt Hospitals Provided $105 Billion in Community Benefit

American #hospitals are required to report to the federal government their community benefit activities in exchange for their tax-exempt status.

Last week, Fierce Healthcare published an American Hospital Association analysis stating that tax-exempt hospitals provided $105 billion in community benefits that range from financial assistance to erasing #medicaldebt in 2018.

“The most common #communitybenefit was #financialassistance, which made up 10.3% of their expenses.”
